Styling revisions over Wildtrak models included LED headlamps, new 18-inch alloy wheels, darkened tail lights, ‘Thunder’ badging for the front doors and tailgate and new red radiator grilles. Ford vans have also fitted black replacements for the bumpers, skid plates, fog lamp surrounds and door handles of the pickup.
Inside the Ford Ranger Thunder you’ll find ebony leather upholstery with the Thunder logo stitched into the front backrests, as well as contrasting red stitching across all the trim of the cabin. You’ll also get black floor mats included as standard as well as an eight-inch infotainment system and a set of unique tread plates which are backlit in red.
As an optional extra you can also opt for a Mountain Top roller cover for the load bed of the pickup, this also comes with a divider allowing you to split the area into two smaller sections, stopping items from rolling around the bed.
What’s under the bonnet?
The Ranger Thunder is powered by the brand’s 2.0-litre four-cylinder twin-turbocharged EcoBlue diesel engine which delivers 210ps and 500Nm of torque. Like standard Ford Ranger pickups, power is sent to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. Ford vans claim that the powertrain will deliver an economy of 31mpg on the WLTP cycle and emissions of 239g/km.
